Five of our most creative Year 5 mathematicians went to Lampton School on Monday to take part in a masterclass with Ruth Williams, a maths expert, and children from other local primaries. The children puzzled over some very tricky problems and came up with some very creative solutions. The group were accompanied by Miss Humphrey and Ms Whelan, both of whom had a great time. The group will visit for the final session on Monday and we look forward to them returning to Strand to share their knowledge and skills with some of our younger mathematicians. This is part of our school improvement focus of deepening our maths skills across the school - peer learning is a great way to hook our younger mathematicians.
