Yesterday evening, Strand was transformed into a concert venue when a number of our very gifted musicians and singers had the opportunity to showcase their talents. The evening was arranged by Geoff Bonner and our cracking team of peripatetic music teachers from Hounslow Music Service, who had the tricky job of choosing the performers from the vast pool of talent at their disposal. Even with a very tight schedule only a small proportion of our 130 musicians had the opportunity to perform. The audience was treated to recitals from dozens of instrumentalists performing on a range of instruments including violins, woodwind, trumpets, French horn, piano, guitar and even a rock band! The 5/6 choir performed some of our favourite numbers including a cracking acapella version of ‘Vois sur ton chemin’ in French. The audience were taught a mash up of Twist and Shout and La Bamba which they sang beautifully, with only a little help from the choir. Many thanks to all of you who attended, to all the staff who gave unstintingly of their time and of course to all of our wonderfully talented children.
