Sad farewells

As we didn’t publish a newsletter on the last day of term we are saying a somewhat belated farewell to Gill Hartnell. Gill said farewell to the school in a special assembly and received her limited edition Good Luck from Strand tee shirt – worn by a very select group of ex Strandites. After 13 years at Strand Gill has moved on to a new challenge and an exciting new life in the South West. Gill has almost completed her training as a Place2Be counsellor and will be turning her energies to completing her MA whilst enjoying the peace of the countryside. Gill has brought many things to Strand over the years and we have been lucky to benefit from her many talents – ranging from embedding a love of literature in her reading group to supporting Strandites in achieving personal bests. We know you will join us in wishing Gill and her husband John all the best in their new life.

Cygnet Club families will be sad to hear that Andrea Brown, a member of the Cygnet team for many years, has left us this week. Andrea has moved on to lead the after school club at St Paul’s School in Brentford where she already works as a midday supervisor and we wish her luck in her new position. We are currently advertising for staff to join the Cygnet team – application forms are available on the website.
