We’re saying “goodbye” to some much loved colleagues. Michelle Wood, having bravely commuted from Hampshire since she returned from maternity leave in April, has decided that the journey is just too much and so she will be leaving us to spend more time at home with baby Dexter. Michelle joined us as an NQT and has brought many things Strand over her time with us – she will be missed by families and colleagues alike. If you have met baby Dexter then there really is no competition! He’s just too gorgeous to say goodbye to every day. Similarly Helen Duke, will be not be returning from her maternity leave. Having welcomed baby Edward earlier this year the opportunity to spend more time with him and his big sister Alice has proved too great a temptation. Helen joined us as a Year Team Leader, spending time in both year 4 and year 5 before taking on the SENDCo role. Helen’s warm, supportive manner has been much appreciated by those families who have been lucky enough to work closely with her. Much loved by her colleagues, Helen will be remembered for many things: always the first to lead the dancing, never being seen without matching accessories but mainly her endless positivity and commitment to do the absolute best for the children in her care.
