How do we spend the Pupil Premium?
Charcoal - Year 6
The Pupil Premium has been allocated to schools by the Government as a mechanism to support children who are eligible for free school meals (FSM) or Looked After (LAC). This extra Government funding has big impact on Strand pupils helping to narrow the gap between FSM and LAC children and their peers. Whilst the amount of Pupil Premium is decided by the Government they believe that schools are best placed to assess the most appropriate additional provision that should be made for the individual pupils. At Strand we have spent it in many ways, including employing extra teachers to reduce group size.
How effective has it been?
The effectiveness of our work can be measured in many ways. One of the simplest methods is to compare the results of FSM pupils with those of non FSM pupils. Click here to see our review of PPG spending from 2015 - 2016.
