A local GP for many years, Nicola is a former parent of 4 children at Strand, and is currently chair of Safeguarding and Wellbeing committee. Â

Cloudia Charalambos

Cloudia has worked in PR and Branding for twenty years, specialising in the creative industries. She is passionate about the need for representation, diversity and inclusion in the curriculum, particularly in literature. She has two children at Strand Juniors.

Gill Coulton

Gill holds the role of Staff Governor and is Deputy Head. Gill sits on the Quality of Education Committee where her expertise in curriculum design and sequencing is valued. Â

Michael George

Michael is parent to three current Strand children, who works as a live music and television production director. A lifelong Chiswick resident, he is a member of the Quality of Education Committee.

Sam Hearn

Sam has 30 years experience as an accountant and auditor in the construction industry. As a local councillor and ex parent he strongly supports the school's role in the community, its ethos and values. He respects the dedication and professionalism of the school's teaching and the support staff. He is currently a member of the Finance, Pay and Premises Committee.

Yolandi Moreira

Yolandi is a former professional ballerina who now works in higher education as a ballet tutor at Central School of Ballet.She has two children currently attending Strand and brings a strong personal connection to the school community. Yolandi has extensive knowledge of nutrition, physical health through exercise and supporting children with specific learning needs. She is excited to contribute positively to the wellbeing of both pupils and staff as a school

Derek Murray

Derek has worked in banking and consulting in the FinTech industry for 40 years. He brings a long and deep understanding of Finance and Project Management to the Governors and is  privileged  to have a daughter currently in her final year at the school. Â

Javed Qureshi

Javed has lived in the local area for over 20 years and his two daughters attended Strand Infant and Junior schools. His career in international business strategy and planning spans over 25 years. Javed is the Vice Chair of the Quality of Education Committee and a member of the Finance, Pay and Premises Committees.

Kate Shafi

Kate has been Clerk to the GB for 15 years. She has 2 grown up children who both went to Strand. Â Kate very much enjoys being part of the Strand community and her role supporting our Governors.

Pia Shipe

Pia worked in global healthcare management for a decade before retraining after the birth of her second child and starting her own interior design business. She has two children at Strand Junior School and is committed to supporting the school and wider community in any way she can.

Kevin Thorne

Kev has been the school's Business Manager since 2012. He is a  co-opted governor and is a member of the Finance, Pay & Premises, Safeguarding & Wellbeing and Swan Centre committees.

Sue White

Sue works in a children's charity and is comitted to protecting and safeguarding childre. A lifelong Chiswick resident both Sue's grown up children attended Strand. Sue is a member of the Safeguarding and Welbeing Committee. Â

Anna Williams

Anna is a media and communications consultant and former global news executive with BBC News. Throughout her career she has championed diversity and inclusion in all walks of life. Anna is Vice Chair of the Governing Body and a member of Quality of Education and Swan Center Committees.

Ruth Woods

Ruth has been Headteacher since 2016, previously serving as both Co Head and Deputy. A Chiswick resident, both Ruth's children attended Strand before moving on to local secondary schools. In her role as Head, Ruth sits on all committees.

Dr Eleanor Yule

Elly is a Paediatric Consultant, specialising in the care of children with complex neurodevelopmental differences and disabilities. She was elected as Parent Governor in 2023. She is thrilled to contribute to the Strand Community as a Governor.
