How do we spend the Pupil Premium?
The Pupil Premium has been allocated to schools by the Government as a mechanism to support children who are eligible for free school meals (FSM) or Looked After (LAC).
This extra Government funding has big impact on Strand pupils helping to narrow the gap between FSM and LAC children and their peers.
Whilst the amount of Pupil Premium is decided by the Government they believe that schools are best placed to assess the most appropriate additional provision that should be made for the individual pupils.
At Strand we have spent it in many ways, including employing extra teachers to reduce group size.
Our funding for the academic year 2025 to 2026 is £124,230
Our strategy 2025-2026 and review of spending is available here.
